I’m currently a maths teacher in Thurso High School. Previously I worked in sales and admin, plodding along happily but never really finding a direction to carve a career from.
My main distraction for many years now has been the Air Cadets. Although it has taken a back seat recently I have a lot to thank that particular organisation for.
Nowadays I am trying to fit in as much golf as I can and as much geocaching as geography will allow. When I have to stay indoors you can guarantee this blasted machine will be on. Whether it’s to check the latest ski reports and glare jealously at the busy Cairngorm slopes or waste hours participating in the madnes that is Facebook you will normally find me online in some manner.
This site has been created with much sweat, swearing and tears as my first step in embracing technology for education which is not a superficial token contribution to the school’s next evaluation but an integrated and valuable inclusion to learning and teaching in my classroom.

Hi, I’m delighted to have discovered your fascinating blog. It’s so encouraging to see such inovative and inspiring teaching going on! I have decided to start my own little blog today. I would be most obliged if you could take a wee peak at it for me. I’m trying to generate some traffic, but not really sure how. Was wondering if you could tell me how you got started etc?

I have a fabulous personal learning network online, mostly through Twitter, who are kind enough to have a look and give me feedback, good and bad. Through Twitter I enjoy lots of conversation about my current projects and what’s going on in education. I also hear lots about what colleagues are up to.
